We are happy to introduce The Jury of the ON THE EDGSE competition!

ON THE EDGE is competition for the best on the edge or experimental film and video-art directed to artists from Poland and worldwide

Ewa Szabłowska (Poland)

Artistic director of the New Horizons IFF, curator, critic. Graduate of art history at the University of Warsaw and of arts and experimental film at the Northwestern University in Chicago. She has been associated with the New Horizons IFF since 2009. She has curated retrospectives of, among others, Jack Smith, Valeska Griesebach, Angela Schanelec, Albertina Carri, Lucile Hadzihalilovic, as well as Norwegian (2012), Israeli (2017) and Iranian (2018) national cinematographies. She is the author of the “visual front” section combining film and visual arts, and the creator of the “third eye” section dedicated to women’s cinema and accompanying debates on the position of women in society and their cinematic representations. Since 2017, she has curated the programmes of visual arts events that make up the festival’s art scene (exhibitions, performances, meetings with artists).

Peter Cerovšek (Slovenia)

Peter is actively engaged with film in various roles: as a film curator, screenwriter, director, critic, and publicist. He is the director of the FeKK Ljubljana Short Film Festival and director of the Center for Contemporary Arts SCCA-Ljubljana where he is chief of DIVA Station Archive for artist video, film, and new media, and curator of video programs. He established in co-production with Slovenian Cinematheque the first Slovenian festival of experimental practices V-F-X Ljubljana. He is also a curator for the short film program at Ljubljana International Film Festival, a founder, producer, and one of the mentors of the scriptwriting workshop Short Scene and a Slovenian representative of Euroconnection Short Pitch organized by Clermont-Ferrand film festival. He directed several short films that received international recognition.

Teresa Vieira (Portugal)

Artistic Director of BEAST International Film Festival. Film critic and cultural journalist based in Lisbon with a Masters in Communication and Arts (FCSH/NOVA). Works for Antena 3 (Portuguese public radio station) and Cineuropa. Has a monthly column in Ŕ Pala de Walsh and collaborates with several Portuguese film festivals. Board Member of Plus East Association.
