We present a list of selected best African or created by African Diaspora shorts which have been dominated by the question of identity, of the continent and its inhabitants both in its historic as well as contemporary context. These touch various subject matters with plot genres varying immensely.

Is a “white”, a so called albino, person a true African? How does media identity of an African differ from true identity? What place does the culture of Senegal or Burkina Faso occupy in a globalized world? But also, should a Muslim woman pluck out her eyebrows?

The list prepared by the AfryKamera Festival has been chosen from nearly 500, not only from Africa, short films and through movies from Kenya, Ghana, Burkina Faso, Senegal, Tunisia or Egypt it is a wide cross-section of the continent itself.
