Belgian Film Breakfast

Bonjour! Goeidag! Guten Tag! This year, ŻUBROFFKA pays tribute to Belgium during a special breakfast event.

On the menu: delicious waffles, hot chocolate, orange juice, monastery cheese, and other delicacies from the land of lowlands — all accompanied by an equally tasty selection of world-acclaimed Belgian short films!

On screen: the story of a certain brotherly bond; a documentary portrait of the Brussels café Café La Perle, where karaoke warms hearts and reminds us of the uniting power of old hits; the adventures of a boy who sets off on a mad journey across the capital in search of a washing machine; a tale about the irony of an all-inclusive holiday paradise; and a trip to Istanbul, during which three men face an eruption of long-suppressed problems and emotions.
Belgium is a small, multilingual country — and in these films you’ll hear both French and Dutch. It’s a small, flat land with a surprisingly diverse and imaginative film scene.
