ŻUBROFFKA Special: BITTER HONEY. FIVE SHORTS FROM RUSSIA

ŻUBROFFKA Special: BITTER HONEY. FIVE SHORTS FROM RUSSIA

Bitter Honey is five short stories from Russia. An absurd tale of a one-legged woman, hard-core excavators drama, half-theatrical experimental journal of first love, a young man experiencing hallucinations in the grip of a big, depressive town, and an old man patiently waiting for his grandchildren in the distant Bashkir village… In terms of a plot, these stories do not have much in common. But if you look deeper, under the surface you will observe something that is difficult to define and describe, but something that is definitely there. Is it a so-called Russian soul? The audience will decide.
Unlike in 2013, this year’s set is not limited to Message to Man Festival selection – some of the films took part in the competition, others not, but according to the organizers deserve to be represented in Bialystok.
