Blissful silence… or a sudden crash? Speakers on, so let’s turn up those basslines! A vast range of sounds exists in our lives, though it’s not always noticeable at first glance. From these sounds, music can emerge and surround us with its diversity. Sometimes it’s merely the background to our everyday lives, blending seamlessly with the environment; at other times, it becomes a way of life, a form of liberation, and a means of self-expression.

In our search for what connects us to the world of sound, a vibrant picture has emerged — reflected in this selection of films. It explores and examines the relationships that link us with music and sound, as well as how they can shape the very fabric of cinema. The resulting mix might well be explosive: here you’ll find horror, documentary, animation, fiction, and even a musical — not to mention a variety of music genres.
