“The state of Belarusian animation is not as bad as the overall state of the film industry in this country. Every year, films from Belarus take part in international festivals and often win awards. Although work in film animation is sometimes tedious and thankless, you can safely say there is a new generation of Belarusian animators. Young artists, adapting the best traditions of their more experienced colleagues such as Mikhail Tumelya or Evgenia Petkevich , have found their own ways of expressing themselves”.
