TRAINS OF THOUGHTS/METRO MYŚLI live film remix feat. SOFA SURFERS

After intense Festival, more than 200 short films from around the world, five thrilling film competitions, concerts, workshops and exhibitions, the culmination time has come, that is awards ceremony. At the end of the Gala, when the winners of ZUBROFFKA will be announced, you will take part in a film – music event: TRAINS OF THOUGHTS / METRO THOUGHT live film remix feat SOFA SURFERS!

The world premiere of the project took place during the opening of the Austrian Pavilion at the Venice Biennale. This unique project uses modern technology, combining it with experiences of silent movies’ audiences and trappers, exploring music spaces of dub, trip hop, electronics, ambient, break beat, lined with strong and deep bass.

“Trains of Thoughts” director, Timo Novotny, together with other members of SOFA SURFERS – Markus Kienzle and Wolfgang Frisch will come to Bialystok after performances at major international film festivals,  such as Karlove Vary and  Amsterdam. “Trains of Thoughts” takes the audience on an unforgettable journey by underground railways of global metropolises: New York, Moscow, Tokyo … The director “mixes” cities using a means of transport that is common for them – the metro.

The show is not just a film experience, it is also a meeting with a musical genius, SOFA SURFERS, known for combining genres such as dub, experimental rock, electronics and trip-hop, often called Austrian Massive Attack. The band, along with the duo Kruder & Dorfmeister, are the pioneers and most influential artists of Vienna dub scene, known for numerous solo projects (Markus Kienzl, I-Wolf). They had a particular impact on the phenomenon called “Vienna Sound”, which significantly influenced modern music.
