In the end, he finds out that just because Dede is dead doesn’t mean that she is completely gone.

Zosia is a 13-year-old CODA girl – the hearing child of deaf parents. Together with her dad, she sets out to compete in her dream swimming competition, which her father’s oversight prevented her from entering. Along the way, the characters encounter complications that put Zosia in the role of interpreter and mediator between her deaf dad and the rest of the world. Having a voice becomes not only a privilege for the girl, but also a burden.

Like a refrain, the image of the sea recurs, tempting with the promise of freedom, yet terrifying at the same time, because it is a different world, so different from the warm sand.
