Treat yourself to un petit déjeuner! A French breakfast is usually a croissant, pain au chocolat, brioche or baguette spread with jam or butter, and coffee or hot chocolate to drink.

In France, there are practically no salty breakfasts, so a little contrary to this and with the idea of less sugar in mind, we offer a bittersweet look at contemporary France. During the screening of ‘La charge mentale’, we visit a village where some people – in the hope of regaining the respect of the community – take part in a wife-bearing race. In ‘Deux ou trois choses que je ne sais pas d’elle’, we will move to the suburbs of Brest, where an 18-year-old girl lives, who, to the consternation of her secular family, has recently donned the hijab. If you are interested in sport, you will know that France has talented champions in almost every sporting field, and that sport is the best chance to change social status. “Tall” will explain us a bit about what the French youth training system is all about and the sacrifices it entails. Finally, along with a young bodyguard, we will try to wallow a little in luxury by the sea (taking advantage of the leave of the minister’s protected wife), but fate will play a trick on us in the form of unexpected social unrest.
