Berlin stories

Berlin is the Cinema both in its great and its tragic history. It is Składanowscy brothers, the Babelsberg film studios with Marlene Dietrich and Pola Negri, but it is also Leni Riefenstahl and Goebbels’s propaganda machine. Berlin is associated with the streets where Lola ran and where they said goodbye to Lenin. However, Berlin in a film is not only “Run Lola Run” and “Good Bye, Lenin!”, it is also a reflection on its past and today. The short film also has its tradition in this endless story of the city. Such a form, which does not force you to participate in epic threads, can quickly get you acquainted with the atmosphere of the city and its history, and sometimes tells more than a long tale. Presented films are a mini reflection on the history and everyday life in Berlin. It is no longer existing Ost-Berlin with its ORWO colour, STASI or SB (Security Service). It is the space melancholy mixed with the secretive dreams of the characters, it is techno and shabby walls, it is the places which still exist or no longer exist. Perhaps, for a moment, you will find yourself in Berlin, somewhere between Alexanderplatz and Wannsee lake, walking along the streets, smelling tasty bratwursts or …..you could turn into a flamingo for a while.
