directors: Samuel Albaric, Martin Wiklund & Ulysse Lefort
director of photography: N/A
music: Victor Pitoiset
France 2017, 17’

How does one grow up between an absent Iraqi father and a pervasive Jewish mother? Tossed around by the great upheavals of the modern times, Tim tries as hard as he can to find his place in the world.

Dark Chamber
director: Ottó Bánovits
director of photography: Gergely Pálos
Sweden 2018, 6’

The Camera Obscura (Latin for Dark Chamber) is an optical device that led to the invention of the photographic camera. It consists of a box or a room with a hole on one side. This film is a reconstruction of an event that took place close to the border of Austria and Hungary in the summer of 2015.

Min Börda/The Burden
director: Niki Lindroth von Bahr
director of photography: Niki Lindroth von Bahr
music: Hans Appelqvist
Sweden 2017, 13’

An animated musical with apocalyptic undertones. The story’s four episodes take place in various settings, all of them located in a modern generic market place next to a large freeway. The characters, portrayed as animals, perform musical numbers. The episodes range from a cheerful tap routine to nightmarish darkness.

Self Destructive Boys
director: André Santos and Marco Leão
director of photography: Hugo Azevedo
Portugal 2018, 27’

Self Destructive Boys is a direct stare into masculine interaction as we follow three boys in their mid-twenties: António, Xavier and Miguel, testing the limits of their sexual flexibility. This film is built on an edge: the ambiguity of human relationships. Boys will always be boys.

Skuggdjur/Shadow Animals
director: Jerry Carlsson
director of photography: Marcus Dineen
Sweden 2017, 21’

Marall follows her parents to a party and they want her to behave. As the evening progresses she finds the adults’ behaviour increasingly strange. Everyone at the party is trying to fit in, but not everyone succeeds. Marall also seems to be the only one seeing the shadow circulating inside the house.

Stilles Land Gutes Land/Quiet Land Good People
director: Johannes Bachmann
director of photography: Pascal Reinmann
music: Moritz Widrig
Switzerland 2018, 25’

Sybille, a headmistress and politician, is in the middle of an election campaign for president of the municipal council in her Swiss village when her son is accused by a classmate of mistreating her. Sybille has to choose between morality and career. Either way, her reputation in the community is at stake.
