Ice swimmers go cold water screening. A kick of positive energy and dopamine from One Minute Film Festival

We’ve got quite a few ice swimmers in the ŻUBROFFKA team, so a year ago we envisioned an event combining the festival’s energy with the passion of Podlasie residents for cold-water swimming. We joined forces with the Bialystok Sports and Leisure Centre and friends from the Shcha7sec Animated Film Festival, allowing you to swap cinema seats for… the Dojlidy Ponds, followed by a screening of numerous outstanding seven-second animations.

We love sharing joy, which is why, motivated by last year’s success, we invite you to another screening for “ice swimmers.” This time, however, we are aiming for a record and extending the length of the featured productions to… 60 seconds! The programme includes 23 spirit-warming selections from our friends at the Gdańsk One-Minute Film Festival. These films stand out for their variety of forms, raw materials, visual messaging, but most importantly, the atmosphere that will warm us at the onset of winter! Under extreme conditions, we will test the flexibility of cinematic material and see where the meandering stream of forms and themes takes us. We might even find answers to questions like: What happens to spilled compote? What did the extinction of dinosaurs look like? What can you find in the Museum of Man?

FF1:00 is produced by the Baltic Sea Cultural Centre in Gdańsk.
