Midnight shorts vol. II

After last year’s success of MIDNIGHT SHORTS during ZUBROFFKA, film monsters and freaks are back! Referring to the legendary New York independent and underground film screenings, we have prepared a special, two-hour programme, consisting of contemporary pictures, evoking former cult of midnight movies! Interestingly, many of these films were noticed by the world festivals’ selectors, which proves that the cult cinema came back into favour, and ZUBROFFKA has something to do with it! This year again we will prove that class B cinema can be inspiring and contemporary artists are able to play with genre cinema. Then the monsters you have never dreamed about will come back. And since the festival takes place before Christmas, for a good start Christmas trees will… kill their owners (Sundance winner – “Treevenge”). Other attractions include: a homeless man with the head of a cat haunting  a young couple (“Cat Sick Blues”), a plush Godzilla will violate the tranquillity of a small town (“The Elaborate End of Robert Ebb”), a little kitten will terrorize its good-natured owner (“Tibs”)! But that’s not all! Blood will be spilled on the screen by an eastern martial arts master whose weapon is a huge… (Cannes selection – “La Bifle”), Norwegian cannibal lover and women’s breasts collector (“bOsOm”) and magical liqueur, stimulating deadly tentacles (“Perfect Drug”). It’s only part of the heroes’ criminal profiles that will stay in your head for a long time. Get ready for the magic of the independent and rebellious old cinema, superbly combining humour, fear, and crazy fun.
