The Jury of ŻUBROFFKA International Short Film Festival

Konstantina Kotzamani

Graduate of Fine Arts Academy in Thessaloniki. Her films have been awarded at many international festivals. Washingtonia, the Grand Prix winner at last year’s Żubroffka, premiered at the Berlinale in 2014 and was nominated for the Golden Bear. The film also received the best Greek short film award and was nominated for the European Film Award. Konstantina’s latest work Yellow Fieber premiered at the Film Festival Locarno in 2015.

Magnus von Horn
Born in Gothenburg, studied at Film School in Lodz,  lives in Warsaw. For his documentary “Radek” got Maciej Szumowski Award, and his student short film “Echo” won the award for best film at the International Festival of Film Schools in Munich and the Grand Prix at the Festival Tous Courts in Aix-en-Provence. Moreover, his graduation film “Without Snow” won the Grand Prix at the International Film Festival in Bilbao and the Grand Prix in the Young Cinema Competition at Gdynia Festival. His feature-length debut THE HERE AFTER was well-received by the audience.

Vahram Mkhitaryan

Director and photographer, graduate of Armenian State Pedagogical University (specialization: director of feature films).  He came to Poland 10 years ago as a scholar of the Lane Kirkland Program of Polish-American Freedom Foundation and Polish-American Fulbright Commission. He completed feature and documentary film courses at Wajda Film School. In 2014 he made his first independent short documentary “Shepherd’s Song” and a short fiction – “Milky Brother”. Both films have been shown and awarded worldwide, including Zubroffka.

Ryszard Jaźwiński

He spends a large part of his life spent at the cinema. A journalist, observer, juror, moderator of meetings with filmmakers and… DJ at film festivals. Working for Polish Radio 3 since 1991. His beloved place, after Warsaw, is Madrid, hence his nickname Rico! The author of countless interviews with stars and authorities of cinema. A close friend with many of them. The author of Trójkowo Filmowo broadcast, awarded in 2010 by Polish Film Institute. He probably broke the record in being “live” on the air, talking to the listeners for 9 hour and 30 minutes without interruption!

Paweł Chomczyk

Actor, puppeteer and theatre producer. Graduate of  Zelwerowicz Theatre Academy in Warsaw and the Department of Puppetry Art in Bialystok. Co-founder of the independent theatre Kompania Doomsday and Grupa Coincidentia. His performances are presented at festivals and theatres all over the world. He has won many acting awards (including the Grand Prix at Paderewski Festival in Buffalo). He cooperates with the German theatres Westfluegel Lindenfels Leipzig and Figurentheater Wilde & Vogel. He has also appeared in theatre plays and films.
