From wintry Augustów to sunny Spain in 78 minutes? With the ŻUBROFFKA festival anything is possible! We invite you on a trip in the footsteps of cinema under the sign of Buñuel, Saura or Almodóvar, during which Spanish filmmakers will show us what lies beneath the surface of this country bathed in sunshine!

Ever wondered if Spain’s sunny climate would be conducive to unearthing UFOs? If you’re a fisherman, your name is Paco and – most importantly – you live in a small Spanish village, the answer will more than likely be no, as the film ”Space Frankie” provides evidence. Will the journey of Nadia, the protagonist of the film ”Au Pair” to the heart of Spain, where she is to teach French, turn out to be the adventure of a lifetime? Perhaps, if she has a taste for the strange and disturbing experiences in the heart of Castile. Does the human race deserve a second chance to start from scratch? The answer to this question is sought by the creator of a comedic treatise on human stupidity: ”Survivers”. Lola is a vegan and Aurelio is a hunter. The characters in ”Calor infinito” have lost their mother, but her body remains at the bottom of the sea and they can’t find it, so they will have to invent their own ritual to say goodbye to her and continue their very different lives in peace. During the event we will also meet monsters as if taken out of Tolkien’s world: witches, ogres, orcs and wizards, who experience very human problems: economic crisis, depopulation, addictions, mental problems or old age.
