If we get inside a Venezuelan kitchen, we can easily notice the resemblance of some dishes. In Venezuela, we have empanadas that may be associated with Polish dumplings, as well as arepas that Venezuelans eat as Poles eat buns, except that they are made with cornmeal and served straight from the pan. Watching Venezuelan movies we can also find things in common, since both cinemas often introduce social content. Such film is Hija de Puta, a story of a prostitute’s daughter, forced by life to live like an adult. A sense of humour also unites Poles and Venezuelans. For fans of comedy we have the film La Conclusion de Quevedo, a funny story of two men and their vicissitudes of love. For moviegoers who like extraordinary stories we have prepared two films: Tuya, a story of a recurring mysterious box that strongly disturbs the main character’s head, and Flamingo – a musical animation, full of magical characters. Young viewers will also find something for themselves. La hora señalada will show them a school incident they can probably identify with. Such an excellent set of images and flavours can only be tasted during Venezuelan Film Breakfast!

Guests of the screening: Dimas Alvarenga Guerra – First Secretary of the Embassy of Republic Bolivariana of Venezuela in Poland, Victor Quero – programme curator.
