ŻUBROFFKA fiestra tropical: Klik & Frik (ARG), JUBA (UK, NG), Kitty Sarcasm (PL), Obszańska / Dziedzic b2b dj set
¡Esta noche es la noche! Get ready for birthday dancing until dawn to stunning rhythms from Latin America and Africa! The stage will be ignited by Argentina’s Klik & Frik, who have one foot on the dance floor and the other in the transcendental meditation of South America! Originally known as Frikstailers, they revolutionized electro-cumbia by blending tropical sounds with dancehall and hip-hop! Also appearing on stage: Juba, a child of the Nigerian diaspora in the UK, seamlessly combining genres like gqom, kuduro, baile funk, and afrotech; Kitty Sarcasm, mixing a variety of electronic genres in her sets with a focus on global bass — from broken beats of South America to Ghetto House. To finish the night, Obszańska/Dziedzic b2b DJ set will merge the best rhythms from the Amazon and Africa. Rhythm, energy, life. ¡Venga!
KLIK & FRIK (Argentina)
After releasing “Telepat”, their debut album with collaborations with Nicola Cruz and Chancha Vía Circuito among others and in these times of confinement, the Argentine duo Klik & Frik presented two conceptual EPs called “Contemporal I” and “Contemporal II”, created thanks to an internal search and willingness to rethink and reposition themselves outside the dance floor. In 2023 they performed at festivals such as the German Fusion, the Mallorca Live Festival or the Chilean Corona Sunset, as well as touring Latin America. In April 2024 they released “Regenerar” through the US label Nacional Records, with a theme that revolves around the mysterious world of mushrooms, and with collaborations with artists such as Baiuca or Minuk.
JUBA (United Kingdom, Nigeria)
Juba is a dynamic DJ and a child of the UK’s Nigerian diaspora, who is celebrated globally for her genre-blending prowess and infectious energy. With a focus on African and diasporic sounds, Juba seamlessly weaves together genres such as Gqom, Kuduro, Baile Funk and Afrotech, whilst also drawing influences from sounds such as Hard Drum, Jersey Club and Techno.
Since 2017, Juba has graced renowned global stages, including berghain/Panorama Bar, Nyege Nyege Festival, Group Therapy Copenhagen and Glastonbury Festival. Her exhilarating mixes for Boiler Room, Mixmag LAB and Keep Hush to name a few, alongside collaborations with artists like Pongo, have solidified her international presence as a revered and audacious DJ. In 2022, Juba co-founded her clubnight ọ́kụ́ at Berlin’s legendary Tresor, asserting herself as a key figure in one Europe’s principle electronic music hubs. Committed to enriching musical landscapes, she hosts community-focused events in London with her dj collective Boko! Boko!, promoting emerging DJs and gender balance in the music scene.
