The International Jury will evaluate shorts in 3 national and 2 international competitions. In addition to the Grand Prix of ŻUBROFFKA festival, awards and honorary mentions in each of the competitions, they will also grant special prizes for the best Animation, Documentary, Feature, Cinematography, and Music.
Nadja Andrasev (Hungary)
Animation filmmaker with an MFA from MOME Budapest. She is an alumna of Animation Sans Frontiéres and the Open Workshop residency. Her films, “The Noise of Licking” and “Symbiosis” were screened in competition at numerous festivals and received over fourty awards, including the Joint Third Prize at the Cinéfondation Selection in Cannes, and the Jury Award for Best Animated Short at SXSW. As a director she likes to address personal topics involving obsessions, voyeurism and sex.
Michał Marczak (Poland)
Writer and director. Marczak’s latest feature “All these sleepless nights” received the award for best director at the 2016 Sundance Film Festival and appeared on many top ten lists in publications such as Rolling Stone Magazine and IndieWire. Marczak’s previous film, the documentary feature “Fuck for forest” premiered at SXSW and heralded by UK’s Dazed and Confused Magazine as one of the “top ten most innovative and genre-pushing docs of recent years”. He also directs music videos. He’s worked with such artists as Radiohead, Mark Pritchard featuring Thom Yorke, Jacek Sienkiewicz, Brodka. Michal’s commercial work has brought him numerous awards and nominations, including Saatchi & Saatchi New Directors Showcase 2018, Cannes YDA, Creative Circle, and UKMVA.
Sasha Prokopenko (Ukraine)
Sasha Prokopenko is a programmer, film curator and translator based in Kyiv, Ukraine. Sasha is a Head of Programming at the Kyiv International Short Film Festival. Since 2018, she’s been one of the curators of the Sexuality Matters section, focused on LGBTQIA+ rights, women’s rights, gender identity and sex positivity. Sasha also curates the Teen Screen section at the Molodist Kyiv International Film Festival. Since 2016, she has worked at the independent film distribution company, KyivMusicFilm, that distributes films on art, music and culture.
Sasha Prokopenko will replace Egyptian Jury member Sameh Alaa who, unfortunately, can’t make it to our festiwal.
