Podlasie-born Ewa Borysewicz stands out with great hand-drawn images and a striking, documentary-like sense of observation. The director has received a number of awards at international film and arts festivals. Her animation “To Thy Heart” was the only Polish short film which competed for the prestigious Berlinale award (2013). Ewa Borysewicz is a graduate of the Krakow Academy of Fine Arts, since 2014 she has been studying film directing at the Radio and Television Faculty in Katowice. She is also the author of drawings published on her blog (ewaborysewicz.blogspot.com) and in newspapers. Moreover, she has created short and humorous social issue animations for the Arsenal Gallery in Białystok and TVP Kultura (Culture TV). During this year’s edition of the Festival she will conduct animated documentary workshops “My Home, My Playground”.
