Animation Workshop:

Yellow Sticky Notes – Anijam

Anijam is working on animation, which will be attended by many animators. Each of them will prepare their own piece which, when combined with others, will be a part of a larger collective film unit. The activity stems from the idea of a well-known animator Marv Newland. Jeff Chiba Stearns developed the concept in his film “Yellow Sticky Notes | Canadian Aniam”. 15 best contemporary Canadian animators also contributed to the film by recreating one day from their lives.

Workshop participants will first learn the basics of animation (a demonstration of various techniques and exercises as a warm-up), then they will be assigned topics to develop by creating hand-drawn animations on yellow notes. While doing this they will be able to express themselves, their points of view and uninhibited creativity.

Anijam is a unique opportunity to work together on an animated film. The workshop participants will also learn to “revive” stationery by means of stop motion.

Experience in drawing is not required.
