ŻUBROFFKA Special: Ice swimmers go cold water screening. A kick of positive energy and dopamine from Shcha 7 sec Animated Film

We’ve got quite a few ice swimmers in the ŻUBROFFKA team, so we dreamt up a show combining the festival’s energy with the Podlasie residents’ love of cold plunging. During the screening, films will be projected from a LED display standing on the shore and ice swimmers will watch them from the water. The programme includes more than 100 seven-second animations from around the world, prepared by our friends from the Shcha 7 sec Animated Film Festival.

The calculation is simple: during a minute of cold plunging, viewers will watch almost 9 films, during 3 minutes – 27, during 6 minutes – 54, and during 10 minutes – as many as 90 titles! This means that even by cold plunging for less than 10 seconds, there will be more than one film to watch!

Shcha7sec is the International nomadic micro-festival of animation films up to 7 seconds. The festival was founded in 2019, since then there have been ten editions in different countries. Premiere edition usually take place within the frames of the bigger festivals, forming with them somewhat symbiotic units. The idea is to give an opportunity to everyone to show their microfilm and to watch it together with an audience on a big screen. There is no selection process, no hierarchy, we show ALL the films which meet the festival’s requirements and the law of the hosted country. At the ŻUBROFFKA festival there will be shown picks of 150 films from different editions chosen by one of the founders of the festival Nadya Svirskaia.
